Return-to-India Readiness Review

A Return-to-India Readiness Review gives you a written, fact-specific residency, RNOR, asset and banking action plan before your move.

Who it is for
NRIs and OCIs planning a return, or recently returned families who need to sequence accounts, overseas assets and reporting around their actual move date.
What it covers
Residency and RNOR assessment; an overseas-asset and account map; banking and FEMA actions; and the Indian reporting and filing roadmap. US cases include retirement accounts and equity workday/source questions; Gulf cases review residency, income source and first receipt; UK cases review departure and pension coordination; Canada cases review departure-tax and asset timing with the foreign adviser. Foreign-law references are orientation, not foreign-law advice.
Written deliverables
  • Written residency and RNOR assessment with assumptions and missing facts
  • Overseas-asset and account map
  • Banking / FEMA action checklist and reporting / filing roadmap
  • Dated action plan with dependencies and responsibilities
What to prepare
India travel dates for the relevant years, citizenship and country of residence, planned move date, account and asset list, pension details, RSU / ESPP / ESOP vesting schedules, and existing tax returns. Share sensitive documents only through the agreed channel after scoping.
Response time
We confirm the response time and delivery date in the written scope after checking your deadline and receiving the agreed documents. No turnaround is promised before scoping.

Who it is for
NRIs and OCIs selling Indian property, including inherited or jointly held property, who need to understand buyer withholding and the route for moving proceeds overseas.
What it covers
Capital-gains and TDS position based on residency, acquisition and proposed sale facts; the lower-deduction certificate route using Form 13; the sale document pack; and the repatriation sequence including Form 145/146 (formerly 15CA/15CB), where applicable. Written deliverables
  • Written capital-gains / TDS position and assumptions
  • Form 13 route assessment and application-document checklist
  • Sale document pack checklist with gaps identified

Cross-Border Asset Review

A Cross-Border Asset Review identifies tax and FEMA issues across overseas accounts, retirement funds and equity compensation, with a coordinated written decision plan.

Who it is for
NRIs, OCIs and returning Indians with foreign bank or brokerage accounts, retirement funds, or RSU / ESPP / ESOP interests spanning more than one tax jurisdiction.
What it covers
Foreign bank and brokerage accounts, retirement funds and equity compensation; residential status, income source, treaty coordination, reporting obligations and FEMA actions. This is tax & FEMA decision support, NOT investment or portfolio advice. No securities recommendations, asset allocation or return forecasts are provided.

  • Asset-by-asset tax / FEMA issues register
  • Reporting and document gaps with applicable-status assumptions
  • Coordinated tax and FEMA plan with sequencing and foreign-adviser dependencies
What to prepare
